Information - Admission
Children can be admitted to our Goodinge site from 3 months. There is provision for 12 babies and 20 toddlers.
Children are admitted to the nursery classes (1,2 & 3) when they are approximately 3 years 3 months of age. They are given a part-time place to begin with and are offered a full-time place later subject to availability. We give priority to children who have sisters and/or brothers in school and to children living close to the school.
We take details of children wanting a place in the nursery, but a place cannot be guaranteed. Parents wishing to register their child can do so when the child is two years old and they should see the school secretary and complete an application form. You are also welcome to arrange a visit. A separate booklet about nursery provision is available.
Just before the age of five children move into the reception (Blue) class. Some children, who enter the school at this time, have not been in our nursery class and again priority is given to children who have sisters and/or brothers in school and to children living close to the school. (The Local Education Authority allocates children to schools based on parental preference). An induction programme is used to ensure all children are well prepared for the transfer.
Families who wish to transfer their children from other schools and/or areas should make an appointment to see the Headteacher. If there are places available parents will be invited to look around the school prior to accepting a place.
